Once glass has been tempered, it becomes extremely hard and cannot be altered in any way. A very useful product that can be derived from tempered shower door glass, is Fire Pit Glass Chips.
Claytyon Glass's Fire glass is a fairly simple product. Random chip sizes from various thickness glass, our fire pit glass is very inexpensive compared to the specailty shops that sell comparable products.

We package our Fire Glass Chips in 25 lb bags and are available for $49.00 per bag.

How Much is Needed?
Most applications require about a 3 inch base of fire glass chips. One square foot of 3" deep fire chips will weigh about 15 lbs
